Filep – Egri Kékfrankos, 2022

Dry red wine from the Eger region of Hungary, from the Nagy-Eged Hill, which is the only limestone-based terroir in Eger (the rest is based on volcanic bedrock). Whole bunches were fermented spontaneously in open vats after a short cold maceration. Maturation took place on full lees in micro-oxidative Speidel tanks with low sulphur content, avoiding any intervention that would alter the character of the wine. Moderate alcohol content. High but elegant acidity. Intense aromas of cherry, blood orange and pomegranate.
