Bock Villányi Franc Essencia, 2018

A crystal-clear ruby wine of medium intensity with garnet highlights. Its high viscosity is revealed by the unmistakable phenomenon of the church windows in the glass. The nose is dominated by warm spices, ripe blackberries and sour cherries. On the palate, the dry, full-bodied taste is complemented by a light acidity and soft tannins. Cloves, forest undergrowth, cardamom and cinnamon are found in the long finish. The complex structure and fine barrel spices testify to a judicious use of barrel. An exciting accompaniment to a beef stew in red wine. It’s worth drinking from a larger glass after allowing it to breathe a little.
